AromaTHERAPY
Using Aroma To Ease Insomnia
Aromatherapy provides a natural & homeopathic way to deal with insomnia, anxiety, stress & even promote relaxation. The primary purpose of aromatherapy is to produce an aroma that induces an effect on your very Hooman body. The smells from aromatherapy work on a subconscious & even biological level. Smell can actually affect the way that Hooman beings react. Different smells can stimulate the brain & evoke feelings that are then associated with that smell. Very much like when a trauma survivor has an aroma related trigger. Aromatherapy is used for mental, emotional & physical well-being in countries all over the world; in hospitals, nursing homes & various types of clinics, to stimulate or relax the Hooman body as needed. Some of the more common aromatherapy oils for relaxation are: Chamomile, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Jasmine, Lavender, & Neroli Oils.
There are variety of ways that you can enjoy aromatherapy: such as putting a few drops in your bath water, using oils for massage[alone or not *winks*], or even sprinkling a few drops on your pillow at night before going to sleep. If you are looking into aromatherapy for the sole purpose of insomnia, there are loads of recipes that can be made at home that work very well for sleeps. One of my personal favorites is a mix of 2 drops of Jasmine Essential Oil & 3 drops of lavender Essential Oil. This can be put in a diffuser or placed on the pillow, under the pillow, etc.! [Just make sure that it is in a place where you can actually smell it!] It can also be mixed with a carrier oil & used for a super relaxing massage!
Aromatherapy candles are also available in numerous scents & they are a great added touch, BUT they likely do not release enough aroma on their own to help combat insomnia. Most of the major store chain aroma candles really skimp on the oils! I recommend essential oil drops, or a roller, to get maximum healing benefit! Together with aromatherapy, meditation & yogic practices can also work wonderfully as a way to free the negative energy from your body that could be causing you to lose sleeps!
The most popular aromatherapy oil used these days is lavender. Lavender is a super versatile Herb & can even be grown in your own garden, indoor or out! It also works great for digestive related issues & as a very effective homeopathic antidepressant. it calms nerves, relaxes the body, & promotes restful sleeps! It mixes well with almost every other oil scent too!
Sometimes the everyday stress of life builds up! a mixture of aromatherapy oils can be positively MAGIKAL in creating personal inner balance, a strong sense of well-being & promoting more regenerative sleeps!
